About us

We are a Control and Installation company with
a strong
bias towards automation
with the use of robotics

With over 16 years of automated process knowledge and experience our team can be relied upon to achieve results. We are a small automation company, recently founded with a strong interest in manufacturing automation. The two company directors previously worked in an automotive production environment where they learnt skills that have transferred with them to this company. We believe that automation in any aspect doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. We are interested in looking at how we can improve a manufacturer’s productivity as well as quality, by using automation.

WHY CHOOSE US?

We are a recently formed well motivated and dedicated team who will strive to give 100% customer satisfaction with regards to automation and integration. We are a small company that is why we can be more competitive and attentive to our customers’ needs and requirements. Working to get a good solution on time and within budget is our goal for success, as this will give manufacturers the edge in an ever increasing competitive world.

We quote for complete cell builds for automation processes utilising robotics or PLCs. We can automate an existing process or set up an automated process for a new part type that you are due to start producing. The automation process starts with us looking at the process or part that you are going to automate. We would collect all relevant information and deliver to you a concept. On acceptance of the concept we would carry out the design process and order relevant materials. The cell would then be manufactured and tested at our premises. On acceptance it would be shipped to the customer’s site where we would reinstall and test to ensure it runs as it did at our own factory. The equipment would then be handed over to the customer and any requested training or service packages would be put in place for on-going support.

  • Retrofitting

We offer integration services, this is a process where we look at upgrading existing equipment whether it be for increased reliability, increased profit or cycle time improvements.

We can replace existing equipment for newer more efficient models e.g. PLC’s, Robots, HMI’s and control panels. This will increase the reliability of your processes to help reduce breakdowns; it also refreshes your old equipment to avoid a situation where you can no longer acquire spare parts. Upgrading equipment is popular when a line comes to the end of its life and customers want to reuse the equipment either because the part contract has been extended or they have a new part that has very similar characteristics to the old one.

We can add additional equipment to an existing line e.g. PLC’s or robots. This is common when a customer needs to improve cycle times for example if there part volumes have increased.

  • Services

We offer various types of service support for companies that have the knowledge to run the automation cells but don’t have the experience to fix issues or make modifications. Some services that we offer are:

    • PLC/Robot Programming - We offer programming services to help out on existing equipment. We can modify the programs to suit your new requirements; this could be to add new part variants or to improve cycle time.
    • Breakdown Support - We offer breakdown support whether it is a mechanical, electrical or software issue we can assist in getting your equipment back into a working condition. We are happy to work on all equipment new or old and will even work on obsolete models.
    • Servicing – We offer servicing on existing equipment, this is recommended to be done on a yearly basis and keeps the equipment in its best working order. We are happy to carry out a service on a call out basis or we can put a plan in place and contact you when each piece of your equipment requires its next service.
    • Service Agreements – We offer service agreements which are popular with small companies who don’t have a maintenance department based on site. These are yearly agreements which for a set monthly or yearly fee we offer phone and callout support when required, to get your machinery back into a working condition.
  • Design and Manufacture

We offer 3D and 2D CAD design, this is utilised to support the automation cells that we build but can be done as a separate entity if required. We design full automation processes or one off items like fixtures and end of arm tooling for the robots. We can also manufacture any CAD designs if required.

We have expanded into 3D printing; this offers a great solution for prototyping, as it is quick and cheaper than manufacturing. It also offers a cheaper alternative to creating robotic end of arm tooling and part fixtures; it can create more detailed parts, quicker and at a fraction of the price.

  • Training

We offer training on processes and robotics. This can be done on processes that we have installed for you or processes that you already have. We can arrange to carry out the training in house or at the customer’s premises. We don’t believe in generic training courses, our courses are tailor made for every customer to suit the robots and applications that they actually use. This stops your staff spending hours learning about something they will never use and utilises the time to its best, by showing them how to use the kit they will actually be dealing with on a day to day basis.

  • Servicing

We offer servicing on existing equipment, this is recommended to be done on a yearly basis and keeps the equipment in its best working order. We are happy to carry out a service on a call out basis or we can put a plan in place and contact you when each piece of your equipment requires its next service.

  • Technologies Expertise

Having been originally from a Body in White maintenance role and then on to process and automation roles, we have a wide range of diverse skills in many automation sectors. Such as:

    • HMI and PLC Experience – Some manufacturers we have worked with include; Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi.
    • Application knowledge – Some applications that we have worked with include; Sealant, MIG welding, Spot Welding and Material handling.
    • Robotic Experience – Some manufacturers that we have worked with include; Motoman, ABB, Fanuc and Kuka.

  • Integration for Faurecia for their exhaust systems company in Lichfield

    Customer: Faurecia

    Duration: 2 weeks.

Task: integrating newer ABB robots by removing old robot and controllers and replacing them with newer IRC5 robot and controllers.

We were tasked with integrating into existing lines new robots to increase reliability and repeatability. This was due to the current S4 ABB robots being almost 20 years old and the technical expertise for these robots is diminishing.

We provided technical support and advice to our customer who wanted to invest money in upgrading the robots to a newer form of robot and controller. With our technical help this was achieved by replacing the robots with newer IRC5 robots. These new robots then had to have the program transferred across, as the robot programming language is similar but not the same. We covered most aspects of the installation from the mechanical to the electrical and programming. This was achieved on a customer stipulation that it had to be done and working within cycle time for the end of the 2 week production shutdown. This was achieved and our customer was very happy with the end result as we looked at underlying issues that they wanted addressing such as bad fault messaging.
